Tyler has been playing music since he was 9 years old. He attended Lester B. Pearson School For The Arts in London, Ontario. where he learned to play the cello and the piano. He began private piano, guitar and cello lessons at age 10 and has had the privilege of studying under talented musicians such as Lac-Hong Phi and Joe Lanza of The London Symphonic Orchestra. Tyler has won multiple awards including the Music Award in Grade 9, 10, 11 and 12 as well as multiple gold medal Kiwanis awards for chamber orchestra, full orchestra and string quartet. As well as school, Tyler was also a core member in the London Youth Symphony and sat first chair in the Forrest City String Orchestra. Tyler is now a full-time student at Western University, pursuing a Bachelor of Music and a English minor. He is currently studying under Western University's Professor Thomas Wiebe.
Teaching Besides playing, Tyler also teaches cello lessons, he is currently a part-time teacher at SMARTS London. Tyler currently as five cello students ranging from ages 9-45. Besides teaching cello lessons, Tyler has also taught guitar and piano for 2 years. Tyler loves finding different ways to teach the meaning of music to new players. He enjoys sharing his passion for music with others and hopes to become a professional teacher for the school board in the future.
